Hot Tub Holidays
in Scarborough

Scarborough splits neatly in two: the lively South Bay with its harbour and arcades, and the quieter North Bay with Peasholm Park and the beach huts. Our lodges with hot tubs in Scarborough put both within reach, whether you are staying in a stone cottage on the moors or a period townhouse ten minutes from the sand.

Two Sides of Scarborough: Your Hot Tub Holiday Starts Here

Our Scarborough collection splits into two camps. On one side, quiet countryside cottages set in the North York Moors: stone barns on working farms, lodges overlooking open fields, and enclosed gardens where the only sound is sheep. On the other, tall Victorian townhouses and lodges right in the middle of Scarborough, where the beach is a short walk and the chippy is round the corner.

Which side suits you depends on what kind of break you want. Both come with a private hot tub.

Seaside Cottage Escapes

The North York Moors countryside starts just a few miles from Scarborough, and that is where our smaller stays sit. Expect barn conversions on working farms, stone cottages with enclosed gardens, and lodges in quiet villages with views across open fields to the coast. They sleep two to four, the hot tubs look up at nothing but stars, and the only sound is sheep.

Dog Walks and Beach Days

Most of our Scarborough stays are dog-friendly, with enclosed gardens, paddocks, and coastal paths right on the doorstep. The Cleveland Way runs along the cliffs from town, and the Cinder Track offers 21 miles of traffic-free walking and cycling from Scarborough to Whitby along the old railway line. Between the two, there is no shortage of routes for you and your dog.

Group Stays in Town

Scarborough is one of our strongest locations for large groups. Several properties sleep 14 or more, and the biggest takes 22. Most are tall Victorian townhouses within walking distance of the seafront: period features, high ceilings, multiple lounges, and a private hot tub in the garden. If you are planning a big family holiday, a birthday, or a celebration, there is plenty of space to spread out.

The Scarborough Hot Tub Break

Scarborough was Britain's first seaside resort and one of the best-known towns on the Yorkshire coast, and it still runs on that combination of sandy beaches, fresh sea air, and fish and chips eaten out of the paper. What makes it different from most coastal towns is the split: South Bay is the lively side, with the harbour, the amusement arcades, and the bustle of the main beach. North Bay is quieter, with Peasholm Park, the SEA LIFE Sanctuary, and colourful beach huts.

Scarborough Castle sits on the headland between the two bays, with views that run for miles in both directions. Behind the town, the North York Moors start almost immediately. You can be on the beach in the morning and walking open moorland by the afternoon, then back in the hot tub by evening.

  • Scarborough Castle: The ruins sit on the headland between the two bays, with 3,000 years of history and the best panoramic views in town. Open year-round.
  • The Cinder Track: A 21-mile traffic-free route from Scarborough to Whitby along the old railway line, passing through Robin Hood's Bay. Good for walking, cycling, or running, with coastal and countryside views the whole way.
  • Peasholm Park: An oriental-themed park with a boating lake, tree-lined paths, and a pagoda. In summer, catch the naval warfare battle re-enactments on the water.
  • SEA LIFE Sanctuary: Penguins, seals, otters, sharks, and an ocean tunnel. A solid all-weather option in North Bay, especially with kids.
  • South Bay Harbour: Fresh fish and chips, crab pots, charter boat trips for sea angling, and the classic seaside buzz that Scarborough is known for.
  • The Cleveland Way: The national trail runs along the coast from Scarborough, offering dramatic cliff-top walking. Accessible from several of the townhouse properties in minutes.
  • North Yorkshire Water Park: Paddleboards, kayaks, and an inflatable obstacle course at Wykeham Lakes, about fifteen minutes from town.

  • Flamingo Land Theme Park: Roller coasters, a zoo, and a water park, about twenty minutes inland. A full day out for families.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do North Bay and South Bay compare?

South Bay is the traditional, lively side of Scarborough: the main harbour, amusement arcades, fish and chip shops, and the busiest stretch of beach. North Bay is quieter and more relaxed, with Peasholm Park, the SEA LIFE Sanctuary, beach huts, and the start of the Cinder Track. Several of our stays, including Tennyson House and North Beach Lodge, are closer to North Bay.

Are the stays in Scarborough town or the countryside?

Both. Crabtree Cottage, Wagtail Nest, and The Sequoia are set in the North York Moors countryside, between four and eight miles from Scarborough. The rest are in Scarborough itself, most within walking distance of the seafront and town centre.

Which stays are closest to the beach?

Seacrest Lodge is about 50 yards from a footpath to the beach. Tennyson House is four minutes on foot from the sand. North Beach Lodge is a ten-minute walk from North Bay. The countryside cottages are a short drive to the nearest beach.

Which Scarborough houses work best for large groups?

We have several large houses sleeping 14 to 22 guests, all within walking distance of the seafront. They have multiple lounges, big kitchens that actually work for a crowd, and enough bedrooms that couples get their own space. Railway House is the biggest at 22, and Seacrest Lodge sleeps 20 with sea views.
