Harrogate Cottages and Farmhouses with Hot Tubs
Our Harrogate stays sit in the rolling countryside between the spa town and the Yorkshire Dales. Most are converted farmhouses and stone cottages with proper character: flagstone floors, exposed beams and big gardens.
Harrogate was built on relaxation. The Victorians came for the mineral springs, and the town still has that unhurried feel today. The properties sit three to twelve miles out, close enough for Betty's and the Turkish Baths, but far enough that you get proper quiet and open countryside once you're back.
The range runs from cosy cottages for two to large farmhouses sleeping ten, each with its own hot tub. Most welcome dogs, and the Yorkshire Dales are within easy reach for walking.
Relaxing Spa Breaks & Romantic Retreats
Harrogate's spa heritage runs deep. You can still book a session at the Victorian Turkish Baths on Parliament Street, then follow it with afternoon tea at Betty's around the corner. Back at your lodge, the hot tub picks up where the Turkish Baths left off. Couples staying nearby have Valley Gardens and RHS Harlow Carr within easy reach for quieter afternoon walks.
Dog-Friendly Lodges near the Dales
The Stray, a 200-acre common in the centre of Harrogate, is ideal for morning walks. Beyond the town, Nidderdale (an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and the wider Yorkshire Dales offer serious walking country. Your four-legged companion can join you on the trails and by the hot tub.
Group Getaways & Special Occasions
Harrogate's Montpellier Quarter has enough restaurants, wine bars and independent shops to fill a weekend. Knaresborough, with its famous viaduct and riverside pubs, is ten minutes down the road. Several of our stays sleep eight or more, giving larger groups a proper base with enough bedrooms, a big kitchen and a hot tub to gather around after dinner.
What to Do on Your Harrogate Holiday
- Turkish Baths Harrogate: A working Victorian bathhouse on Parliament Street. Book a session in the steam rooms and plunge pools, then cool off in the frigidarium. Open since 1897.
- RHS Garden Harlow Carr: 58 acres of gardens, woodland trails and seasonal displays on the western edge of town. The cafe does a proper lunch.
- Betty's Cafe Tea Rooms: The queue is part of the experience. Afternoon tea with views over the Montpellier Quarter. Arrive early or expect a wait.
- Valley Gardens: Grade II listed park with flower displays, a boating lake and woodland paths. Free entry and right in town.
- Knaresborough: Ten minutes by car. The viaduct over the River Nidd, Mother Shipton's Cave and riverside boat hire make it a full day out.
- Brimham Rocks: Giant millstone grit formations scattered across Nidderdale moorland. Around 30 minutes by car and well worth it, especially with dogs.
- Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal: A UNESCO World Heritage site, 20 minutes west. The ruined Cistercian abbey and Georgian water garden are worth a full afternoon.
