About Hill Side Barn

If you're searching for a truly peaceful escape in the Lake District, Hill Side Barn is a wonderful discovery. Tucked away in the quiet, scattered hamlet of Pennington, this beautiful stone barn conversion offers a secluded retreat where you can unwind, yet you're only three miles from the bustling market town of Ulverston.

The property has been lovingly restored to a high standard, blending character features like exposed beams with modern comfort. The living space is uniquely located on the first floor to make the most of the setting. It's a spacious, open-plan room that's perfect for socialising, with a beautiful kitchen featuring a central island, a dining area for family meals, and a cosy sitting area with a wood-burning stove. From here, doors open directly onto the patio and garden, creating a lovely flow between indoors and out.

Downstairs, you'll find three comfortable bedrooms: a king-size room with its own en-suite shower, a double, and a twin room, along with a modern family bathroom. It's a flexible layout that works well for families or groups of friends.

The outside space is a real highlight. The spacious patio and garden are perfect for enjoying the fresh country air or for firing up the BBQ on a warm evening. But the best part has to be the private hot tub. It's the ideal spot to sink into the warm bubbles and soothe tired legs after a day of hiking the nearby Cumbria Way or exploring the Furness coast.

The location is fantastic for exploring the best of the area. You have excellent walking and cycling routes right from the doorstep, and the historic town of Ulverston, famous for its festivals and as the birthplace of Stan Laurel, is just a short drive away. You're also within easy reach of Coniston Water for water sports and the sandy beaches of the coast. It's a spotless, well-equipped, and incredibly welcoming home away from home.
