Bwthyn Megan
A beautifully refurbished stone cottage with a private hot tub and cosy woodburner, perfectly located in an Anglesey village near Newborough.
If you're looking for a holiday home that feels welcoming and cosy from the moment you arrive, Bwthyn Megan is a perfect choice. This charming, double-fronted stone cottage is situated in the peaceful village of Llangaffo, making it a fantastic base for exploring the best of Anglesey. It's a place that guests often return to, describing it as an 'amazing cottage' that's 'immaculately clean' and has everything you could need.
Step inside, and you'll find the space is stylishly designed to be both cosy and practical. There are two lovely living areas to relax in. The dining room is perfect for enjoying a home-cooked meal, and it also has an extra sofa and TV, which is handy if you want a separate space for the kids. The main sitting room is the star of the show, an incredibly cosy space with comfy sofas, characterful beams, and a large stone inglenook fireplace with a woodburner – ideal for relaxing in front of after a day out.
The kitchen is modern and well-equipped for all your self-catering needs, from a morning coffee from the Tassimo machine to a full evening meal. It leads straight out to the rear garden, which is a real highlight.
Upstairs, you'll find two beautifully styled bedrooms: a spacious master bedroom with an 'extremely comfortable' king-size bed and a coastal-themed twin room. Guests often rave about the comfy beds and crisp, high-quality linen. There's also a modern family bathroom with a bath and an overhead shower.
The outside space is just as lovely. The enclosed, private rear garden is a real suntrap and a wonderfully peaceful, secure spot for your dog to enjoy. After a day of walking, the bubbling hot tub is the perfect treat to come home to, and it's kept spotlessly clean.
The village of Llangaffo is quiet and ideally located. There's a village shop just a few minutes' walk away, and you're only a short drive from the stunning beaches and red squirrel forests of Newborough. A brilliant local tip is to take a walk to the end of the street, where you'll be rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic view of the entire Snowdonia mountain range.
What truly makes a stay here special, as so many guests mention, is the warm welcome from the owner, Fiona. From the thoughtful welcome pack of wine and milk to being on the end of the phone for any queries, she makes sure you have a perfect, relaxing stay.
