Caecrwn
A luxurious detached stone barn conversion on a working farm with breathtaking views of Pen y Fan and a private hot tub, offering a perfect rural retreat near Brecon.
If you're dreaming of a proper escape to the country, Caecrwn is a truly special find. This beautiful, detached barn conversion is tucked away on a working livestock farm, offering incredible peace and quiet with some of the most phenomenal views you can imagine, right across the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons).
Inside, the quality of the conversion is clear, with lovely Italian tiling on the ground floor and solid oak flooring upstairs. The spacious kitchen and dining area is bright and airy, and as many guests have found, it's exceptionally well-equipped with everything you could need, right down to a slow cooker. It's a great sociable space to gather for meals before opening the French doors onto the patio.
The outside space is a real highlight. The enclosed garden, which has a patio and a lawn for dogs to play on, looks straight out towards Pen y Fan, the highest peak in the National Park. The scenery is simply breathtaking, and you can soak it all in from the bubbling hot tub – a real treat after a day of walking. There's also a barbecue and furniture for dining alfresco on sunny evenings.
When you're ready to relax indoors, the sitting room is a perfect cosy retreat, with comfy leather sofas and a warming wood-burning stove to curl up in front of.
Upstairs, the character continues with charming low beams and sloping ceilings. There are three lovingly decorated bedrooms: a spacious super-king-size room with its own en-suite shower, a comfortable double, and a twin room. A modern family shower room serves the other two bedrooms.
The location is ideal for walkers and anyone looking for a peaceful break. You can enjoy walks around the 23 acres of surrounding farmland, and the owners, who are known for being incredibly friendly and helpful, can even arrange stabling for your horse or salmon fishing on the land.
While you feel a million miles from anywhere, the historic town of Brecon is just a short drive away for supermarkets, shops, and restaurants. You're also in a perfect spot for exploring the wider National Park, whether you're hiking, cycling, or visiting the famous waterfalls. The unique book town of Hay-on-Wye is also within easy reach.
It's a warm, welcoming, and beautifully clean cottage that's perfect for a family holiday.
